Temperamental Kitty...

After a few weeks of being here, 'the cat next door...or so we think' seemed to appear regularly at the house everyday. A little on the slim side, we really don't know where she comes from or who she belongs too. She is much welcomed guest here and she can come and go as she pleases. Her only flaw was that her moods were very up and down for such a sweet natured girl. We thought it maybe because she was nervous but after sometime we began to notice that she would strike out at you if you went near her neck-which if anyone who knows anything about cats and what kind of petting they love, then they would realize that this kind of behaviour was very odd.
Investigating the matter further, there was a simple solution to the problem - her collar was too tight.
Moggins before her collar had been loosened...
Moggins after her collar had been loosened.
Knowing that she would strike out at you if you went near her neck, we wrapped her up in a towel and loosened her collar, then to show her we meant no harm we instantly gave her a cat treat. This proved to be an excellent move. Now she doesn't mind where you stroke her as long as you do.
The change in her behaviour was instant and now she is more relaxed and so very playful.
